Private Sector Plays an Important Role to Diversification Economic in TL

The Minister of Commerce and Industry Mr. Nino Pereira held a meeting with the team of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL) to discuss the important pillars for the economic development of Timor-Leste, at the CCI-TL office, Friday (31/ 01/2025)
The Discussions focused on how MCI can share information with CCI-TL to leverage the private sector to focus on planned, healthy and productive economic development to achieve economic growth in Timor-Leste.
“The private sector must play more roles, we talk about diversifying the economy, we talk about job creation, many things from the government as a partner, through a productive and healthy business environment, productivity for the main creation of the government through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry”. He also highlighted the public and private sectors play an important role, together with the government’s strategic partners, in strengthening the economic sector in Timor-Leste. The Governor also presented the preparations for the Dili International Trade Expo, which will bring together many programs at this event.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-President of CCI-TL with structure, Director of the Commercial Regulation Directorate, DG, DN Industry, Legal Support Coordinator and MCI advisors participate in this meeting.
